Submitting Applications

Too long didn't read (TLDR)

Submit your application through the portal, then route it to your POC via Current Tasks. If you skip the routing step, your application will not be processed.

Available applications

The primary application is the Application for Certification. Other types may appear based on your situation — if unsure which applies, ask your POC before starting.

Application for Certification

Used for applicants who are new to Mississippi law enforcement or returning after a separation of more than 2 years.

PartWho completes itWhat it covers
Part 1You (applicant)Personal background, employment history, training questions
Part 2You (applicant)Background, criminal history questions, signatures
Part 3Your agency's POCBackground investigation, NCIC check, supporting documents

Your POC cannot submit the application until you complete Parts 1 and 2.

How to submit

  1. Log in to the Acadis portal
  2. Go to Standards Resources → Webforms
  3. Find BLEOST Law Enforcement Certification Application Part 1 and Part 2
  4. Click the link to start — fill in all required fields (marked with an asterisk)
  5. Review and submit when Parts 1 and 2 are complete
  6. Go to Current Tasks, click the three-dot button next to your pending application, mark it complete, and route it to your POC

Do not skip step 6

If you do not route your application to your POC, it will not be processed. You will not be approved for training or certification until your POC receives and acts on it.

What happens after you submit

  1. POC receives notification — email notifies your POC that Parts 1 & 2 are complete and Part 3 is ready
  2. POC completes Part 3 — adds agency information and submits the full application to Standards & Training
  3. Standards & Training reviews — a certification specialist determines eligibility and required training level, then emails your POC with the decision

See Certification Process and the Uncertified Officer path for what happens on the POC's end.

Transfers and rehires

If you were previously certified and separated less than 2 years ago, a different form may apply.

Confirm with your POC first

Do not assume which application you need. Your separation date, prior certification status, and the agency's situation all factor in. Ask your POC before filling anything out. See Transfer / Rehire for details.
