Which application do I need to use?

New officers, officers certified in another state, or officers separated 2+ years:

• BLEOST - Application for Law Enforcement Certification parts 1, 2 and 3

Certified officers separated from law enforcement for less than 2 years:

• Application for Agency Transfer/Rehire

How to count separation time

Measured from the applicant's last date of employment in a certified law enforcement capacity to the date the new agency intends to hire them. When in doubt, contact Standards & Training before proceeding.

The two BLEOST certification forms

Form	When to use	Parts
Application for Certification	Never certified, certified in another state, or separated 2+ years	Parts 1 & 2 (applicant) + Part 3 (POC)
Application for Agency Transfer/Rehire	Certified in Mississippi, separated less than 2 years	Single form — no Part 3, no additional training
