Employment History
Too long didn't read (TLDR)
Your employment history shows every hire, separation, and appointment change across your career. It is read-only — only your POC or an Acadis admin can make corrections.
Viewing your employment history
- Log in to the Acadis portal
- Scroll to the Employment section on your dashboard
- Actions are listed in reverse chronological order — most recent first
What each record shows
| Field | What it means |
|---|---|
| Organization / Status | Agency name and Active or Inactive |
| Employment / Appointment Type | Law Enforcement, Detention, or Communications; Full-Time or Part-Time |
| Supervisor | If reported |
| Last Hire Date | Date last hired by that agency |
Your record is read-only
Cannot edit your own employment history
Records are maintained by your agency's POC or an Acadis Administrator at Standards & Training. If something looks incorrect — wrong hire date, missing employer — email acadis-support@dps.ms.gov.
Why your separation date matters
The effective separation date your POC enters starts a clock that determines your certification path if you return to law enforcement:
- Separated less than 2 years — eligible for Transfer / Rehire; no new Application for Certification required
- Separated 2 or more years — new Application for Certification required
Check your dates before returning
Review your separation date before your new agency begins any paperwork. Knowing where you stand helps your POC start the right process. See Certification Process for details.
