Starting the process
Entry into the program is voluntary, and requires the commitment of the agency's chief executive.
Who is eligible
All Mississippi law enforcement agencies having primary responsibility for the enforcement of state statutes and/or county or city ordinances are eligible for accreditation.
What it costs
$300, covering both accreditation and re-accreditation, payable in full with the completed application by check, purchase order or voucher. The fee is not collected here — Program Staff will generate an invoice and email it to you.
First: the Letter of Intent
Send this on its own. Program Staff will reply with a welcome letter and your invoice, and will answer questions while you complete the rest. What it says and why.
Then: the Application Package
These four go back together, with the invoice and the fee. Each is fillable on screen — type your answers, print it, sign it, and keep a copy; the Commission does not send them back.

Where to send it
If anything on the forms is unclear, ask before you send it — that is faster than a package coming back.
