Getting Started

Too long didn't read (TLDR)

Acadis is the states records management system for Mississippi law enforcement certifications. As a POC, you manage your agency's roster, report training, and process certification applications.

What is Acadis?

  • Statewide platform used by Mississippi law enforcement agencies to track certifications, employment history, and training records
  • Maintained by DPS Standards & Training — the official system of record for every certified officer in the state
  • Every officer has a person record with a unique Mississippi Certification ID (MCID) number — this is now the officers official law enforcement certificate number
  • Paper law enforcement certificates are legacy documents — the officer's official law enforcement certification is digital and "lives" in Acadis
  • You no longer need to return an officers "legacy" law enforcement certificate to Standards and Training. You can give the older certificates to your officers or discard them.

Your role as a Point of Contact

As a Point of Contact (POC), you are the Acadis administrator for your organization and the primary link between your agency and Standards & Training. Your responsibilities:

  • Workforce management — Add officers to your roster when hired, remove them when they separate
  • Training records — Enter completed training so officer records stay current and CEU requirements are met
  • Certifications — Ensure officers complete required training each fiscal year and provide documentation if your agency is audited

POCs use the same portal as officers but with elevated permissions to act on behalf of the organization.

Portal accounts

Every applicant needs a portal account before they can use Acadis. Accounts take 12 to 24 hours to approve.

Don't wait

Have applicants request a portal account as soon as they accept an offer. Requesting an account should be part of your agency application checklist as soon as you onboard a new employee.

Officer lifecycle in Acadis

  1. Certification — Identify the correct certification path and submit the application to Standards & Training
  2. Active workforce — Officer appears on your roster once the application is processed; you track training and probationary deadlines
  3. Separation — Submit a separation report when the officer leaves; their record stays in the system indefinitely
