Chapter 1. Role and Responsibility

Standard statement

At least annually, all agency personnel authorized to carry lethal weapons will demonstrate proficiency with each issued or approved lethal weapon.

Each bullet must stand alone when establishing compliance, with proofs identified for every lettered requirement.

  1. a.proficiency training must be conducted by a certified weapons instructor
  2. b.proficiency training must be documented
  3. c.the agency must have procedures for remedial training for those employees who are unable to demonstrate proficiency
  4. d.the agency must have procedures for removing from enforcement duties employees who are unable to demonstrate proficiency with their primary duty weapon
